Flexiteek 2G is proven to be UV resistant, so it will not fade over time. Nor will the material split, chip or crack under normal conditions of use. Because it is welded, its seams are stronger than in covers that are glued. Your cover comes with a 5 year warranty covering material defects. The original Flexiteek covers from the early 2000s are still strong and look great. Their life expectancy is longer than modern, relatively thin teak decks that are regularly scrubbed.
Flexiteek 2G requires little maintenance to keep it looking great. There is no need for regular scrubbing or expensive cleaning and sealing systems; an occasional rinse or jet wash is all it takes for a thorough cleaning that leaves it looking as good as new. Soap and water will remove most spills, including oil, fuel, red wine and fish blood.

What is Flexiteek 3G made of?
It is a synthetic material made with bio-based PVC, phthalate-free and compliant with REACH regulations. It is fully recyclable. In this respect, Flexiteek 3G improves upon the previous generation.
Does it change color over time?
It is very UV stable. Over time, it may darken slightly with prolonged exposure to the elements—just like natural teak. This is easily restored by hand sanding the surface with 40- to 80-grit sandpaper, following the grain. No varnishing or oiling is necessary.
Does it get hot in the sun?
Like any surface exposed to the sun, it can heat up. But Flexiteek 3G is designed to reduce heat transfer and cools down approximately 301% faster than traditional composite flooring. In practice, it's noticeably more comfortable to walk on than other synthetic alternatives.
What are its anti-slip properties?
Flexiteek 3G has anti-slip properties similar to teak and performs better than teak when wet.
How long will it last (service life)?
The first roofs installed in 2000 are still in good condition. Their actual lifespan depends on usage and environmental conditions, but with basic maintenance, we're talking about decades. As installers, we haven't seen any cases of premature deterioration in well-executed installations.
What maintenance does it need after installation?
Very little. Regular rinsing is sufficient for everyday use. If the surface loses some texture over time, a light hand sanding will restore it to its original appearance. No varnishes, no oils, no special treatments. For us as installers, that also means fewer after-sales service calls.
